If it's very cold I imagine people gathering around a source of heat. Depending on what resources are available that might be a fire or something more technological, I'm thinking something like those outside patio heaters but surrounded by bubbles to allow groups to congregate around them. Getting together around a meal seems to be universal around the world, and I can't see that changing. But obviously, if we no longer raise animals for consumption that means gathering around plant based foods. I wonder if that means more 'impossible burgers' or just an embrace of more plant based foods for their own good. I hope the latter, but I think we're more likely to see those imitation and lab grown foods. Rather than just gathering to eat, in this world we gather to look after each other. I can see that ranging from supporting through emotional labour, more low level caring like grooming but also people gathering to look after each others families and the most vulnerable in society. I don't think any of these changes is so radical, but I think the shift in what it would mean for our lives if this were how we gathered would be huge. I'd love to live here.
